The hand operated model is suitable for bench mounting. It produces ‘ V ‘ or ‘ U ‘ notches in 10 mm (0.394’’) impact test specimens. Two screws and dowel pin at the top and bottom secure the broach itself to a square section rack which in turn is drawn through the block or main body of the unit. A hand clamp mechanism locks your specimen in place. The manual operation is carried out with the use of a spoked hand wheel. An end stop is provided to ensure the notch position is consistent on consecutive components.
